Yellow iris

(Iris pseudacorus)

It has flat, sword-shaped leaves that can be up to a metre and a half long. They have a central nerve and are wider and shinier than those of bulrush, with which they could be confused; however, once they bloom, they are quite unmistakable.

Characteristic

They are one of the easiest plants to spot next to irrigation channels, small ponds and very watery meadows, where they can occupy huge areas.

You will find them in the park...
