Walking through rivers of lava

During the activity, we visit the two most emblematic areas of the Garrotxa Volcanic Zone Natural Park: the Croscat volcano and the Jordà beech forest. The Croscat volcano is one of the youngest in the peninsula, and as a result of the human activity of extracting material, we can see what a volcano is like inside; and the Jordà beech forest is a beech forest that grows on a level plain at only 550 meters above sea level, an idyllic and bucolic landscape. . 10Km, +130m elevation gain. . The three oaks of the Rei

On the north of the Garrotxa county, in an amazing abrupt landscape, there are three old monumental oak trees that have a legend to tell us. We discover the little town of Oix and we walk to the Vall d’Hortmoier, crossing cliffs and some creek, and enjoying a spectacular landscape of great beauty.

Discovering butterflies: meet Vanessa and Cleopatra

Do we know many butterfly names? How many days do they live? What do they eat? What happens if we touch their wings? Are there fewer now than before? We will solve these and other questions in an activity designed to enjoy nature and learn how important these animals are. We will get to know aspects of their life and behavior and learn to identify some species that live in La Garrotxa. And with a little luck, we’ll see Vanessa or Cleopatra flying as well.
